BURNING IN THE SUN
Directed by Cambria Matlow and Morgan Robinson
In this documentary, Daniel Dembele returns to his homeland in Mali to start a business building solar panels, a logical move for a country lacking affordable energy but blessed with endless sun. In rural parts of Mali, where 99 percent of the villagers live without power, having access to solar power would be a dream come true. Just as important, being able to grow such a business locally, without the international strings of dependency attached, is extremely important for Africans in general. This inspirational young man shows how it is possible.
In English, French, and Bambara with English subtitles.
Director Cambria Matlow will introduce the film and answer questions following the screening.
