Watch movie: Pumzi

Wanuri Kahiu’s short film Pumzi is a vibrant afrofuturistic sci-fi piece that stands alone in its ability to create and critique a world that feels both foreign and familiar at the same time. Following Asha, a plant museum worker in post-apocalyptic East Africa hoping to explore the world outside, Kahiu creates a visually stimulating narrative that highlights the impact of courage, generosity, and sacrifice in a dire world.
