Family Fest

Minga is an orphaned girl living with her stepmother Mami Kaba and her stepsister Abena. One day, when she is washing dishes in the river, she accidentally breaks a spoon. A furious Mami Kaba chases her away from the house, telling her she has to replace the broken spoon by finding the only identical one hidden by her late mother. An adventurous journey then begins for Minga in the forest. Minga and the Broken Spoon is the first feature-length animated film entirely conceived and produced in Cameroon and is loosely based on “The Broken Spoon,” the famous African tale. The film is a vibrant tribute to Cameroon’s rich cultural diversity, while being a source of entertainment for the young and old alike.

In French with English subtitles.
