Encore screening of TOUSSAINT LOUVERTURE
Mark your calendars for an encore screening of the historical action epic, TOUSSAINT LOUVERTURE on Saturday, September 14, 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., at PCC Cascade Moriarty Arts and Humanities Building, room 104.
The film is based on the life of Toussaint Louverture (1743-1803) who led the only successful slave rebellion in the history of the Americas. It was this 18th century revolt that sparked the Haitian Revolution and led to the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte, liberating the enslaved people of Haiti. Set during Louverture’s lifetime in Saint-Domingue (now known as Haiti), the film focuses on Louverture’s personal life as well as his military genius. In French and Haitian Creole with English subtitles. This three-hour screening will include a brief intermission.
Please remember food and drinks are not allowed in the PCC theaters. The filmmaker will not be in attendance, and there will be no formal after-film discussion. However, we encourage filmgoers to make an evening of it by continuing their own discussions at local eateries such as E’Njoni Cafe, Lucky Lab on Killingsworth, and McMenamin’s Chapel Pub. These organizations have supported our festival over the years and we encourage you to patronize them.
As always, our films are FREE, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
