On a remote volcanic island in Cape Verde, Nana grows up longing for connection after her mother’s unexplained departure. When illness sends Nana to the foot of a volcano for healing, she begins to understand belonging on her own terms. There she encounters a world steeped in magical realism, between dreams and reality.
