The evening begins with a spectacular live performance, setting the stage for the highly anticipated screening of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africanfilmfestival.org\/2025\/festival\/films\/everybody-loves-touda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Everybody Loves Touda<\/em> <\/a>by acclaimed Moroccan director Nabil Ayouch. Sherief Elkatsha&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africanfilmfestival.org\/2025\/festival\/films\/far-from-the-nile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Far From the Nile<\/em> <\/a>reveals how music becomes a unifying force, bridging diverse cultures connected by the Nile River. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africanfilmfestival.org\/2025\/festival\/films\/bobi-wine-the-peoples-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Bobi Wine: The People\u2019s President<\/em> <\/a>by Moses Bwayo and Christopher Sharp, viewers witness the inspiring journey of a Ugandan musician-turned-activist fighting for justice and democracy. Finally, Mati Diop&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africanfilmfestival.org\/2025\/festival\/films\/dahomey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Dahomey<\/em><\/a> immerses audiences in the rich heritage and struggles of a historical kingdom, exploring themes of memory, power, and identity. Together, these films offer insight into the human spirit&#8217;s ability to rise, unite, and transform.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"closing\">Women Filmmakers Week, Marketplace Day, and Closing Night Celebration<\/h3>\n<p><strong>February 27 \u2013 March 1<\/strong> will feature films by an emerging force of women filmmakers, within African cinema. Explore the vibrant <strong>Marketplace Day,<\/strong> featuring African and Black-owned vendors, stunning crafts, artwork, and more at PCC Cascade on <strong>Saturday, March 1, from 2-6pm<\/strong>. Plus, don\u2019t miss the special\u00a0documentary\u00a0short film (ahead of it\u2019s broadcast on\u00a0<strong><em>American Masters<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>PBS<\/strong>, spring 2025)\u00a0<em>House of Aama: Threads of Legacy<\/em>, directed by\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/jamalademola.com\/work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jamal Ademola<\/a><\/strong>, and dance lesson from\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ameltafsout.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/\/ameltafsout.com\/__;!!Ka_JY85zDv0FFw!jkWcQPgjFH3xXerJb2JVCsiK4dqX4Jgr1Sz91BIwSnaO2dTB5b5HI-9Qh3_JDKG-gDV_KEW-7IbjEA6VcYxTH_3V5x9Al2hZATk=\">Amel Tafsout<\/a><\/strong> during the marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>Then, enjoy our Closing Night celebration on <strong>Saturday, March 1 at 6:30pm <\/strong>with a performance by Randa Z, the screening of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africanfilmfestival.org\/2025\/festival\/films\/under-the-fig-trees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Under the Fig Trees<\/em><\/a> (Tunisia) by filmmaker Erige Sehiri, and talkback session Q&amp;A.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"virtual\">CFAF Special Curated African Films with Kanopy<\/h3>\n<p>Discover more films during our festival.
