Min Alesh? (literally “What do you have?”) is an uplifting, highly spirited film about a young woman Selam, who is trying to find a way to make her living and find purpose in life. The film opens in the Merkato in Addis Ababa, Africa’s largest open-air market, where Selam earns money running errands for shopkeepers. When she and her boyfriend Bini both lose their jobs, they try to find other work, but to no avail. Bini wants to leave Ethiopia, but Selam is determined to stay and find a way to live a successful life in her own country.
In Amharic with English subtitles.
