CFAF Country Notes for Senegal

This urgent documentary is about the tragic decline in Senegal’s fishing industry that had once sustained the lives and livelihoods of many thousands of local fishermen, fish processors, and migrant workers from all over West Africa. Kafountine, a village in the Casamance region in southern Senegal, where the country’s largest port is located, provides a case study of “before” – when it was a thriving regional fishing hub, and “after” – when Chinese industrial fishing interests moved in and took over.
In Wolof and French with English subtitles.
