Casablanca Beats is an upbeat film set in Sidi Moumen, an impoverished suburb on the outskirts of Casablanca that was once an incubator for breeding future terrorists. Now Sidi Moumen has an Art Center with a dedicated teacher named Anas, a former rapper, who is teaching his pupils to express their anger, sorrows, hopes and dreams through rap instead of violence. The film is Morocco’s submission to the 2022 Oscars.
