The assistant coordinator will collaborate with our Festival director, Associate Director, and large volunteer committee to help manage and produce our 2021 festival. Great position for someone interested in film festivals or film, looking for a side job or extra income!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Duties will include but are not limited to:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sponsorships\/development<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0assist with:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Contacting and distributing sponsorship documents to current sponsors<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Securing relevant documents, checks, and logos from each sponsor to meet production deadlines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintaining records of sponsor donations and contact information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Recruiting new sponsors<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Grant research and management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Marketing\/outreach<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist with creating content and posting to social media platforms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist with targeted outreach and invitations to community groups<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Technical Support<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Learn and assist with managing online screening platform (eventive)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provide support for online film discussions (zoom, live-streaming)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Film management<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist with tracking film files and formats<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Help screen potential films and offer feedback as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Minimum Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strong interest in film and or\/film festivals ( an interest in African film is a plus!)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of personalities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Able to work both independently and collaboratively<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strong skills in working with google drive, Zoom, and social media<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Preferred experience with online streaming, video formats, and basic website editing (WP)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Responsive and communicative via phone, and email<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:tracy@africanfilmfestival.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tracy@africanfilmfestival.org<\/span><\/a> <b>priority deadline is October 15th ( applications will still be accepted after this date until position is filled)\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Cascade Festival of African Film is an equal opportunity employers, offering employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, disability, veteran status, age, sexual orientation or any other status protected by federal, state or local law.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cascade Festival Of African Films Film Festival Assistant Coordinator -Remote (but local to Portland preferred) Contract: November 2020-April 2021 (possibility for extension\/renewal)\u00a0 $20\/hour\u00a0 Schedule will vary but will average 5-10 hours a week\u00a0\u00a0 Cascade Festival of African Films (africanfilmfestival.org) is seeking an assistant coordinator to help produce our 2021 festival.
