Get those purple outfits ready! Opening night is almost here!

Break out your favorite purple outfit and dancing shoes! This year we are thrilled to present the Portland/Niger film collaboration Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazoughai / Rain the Color Blue With a Little Red In It.  An homage to Prince’s Purple RainAkounak takes us on a journey of a musician’s ups and downs in the guitar rock scene of Agadez, Niger, and is the first film to be made in the Tuareg language. The films star, Mdou Moctar, will be visiting us from Niger to do a talkback and special concert with Christopher Kirkley, the film’s director who hails from our very own city, Portland, Oregon.

Two screenings at 6:30 pm and 9:15 pm with the concert at 11:15 pm
at the Hollywood Theatre (4122 NE Sandy Blvd.)
(All events are first-come, first-served and space permitting)
