It was this 18th century revolt that sparked the Haitian Revolution and led to the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte, liberating the enslaved people of Haiti. Set during Louverture\u2019s lifetime in Saint-Domingue (now known as Haiti), the film focuses on Louverture\u2019s personal life as well as his military genius. In French and Haitian Creole with English subtitles. This three-hour screening will include a brief intermission.<\/p>\n<p>Please remember food and drinks are not allowed in the PCC theaters. The filmmaker will not be in attendance, and there will be no formal after-film discussion. However, we encourage filmgoers to make an evening of it by continuing their own discussions at local eateries such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.enjonicafe.com\/\">E&#8217;Njoni Cafe<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luckylab.com\/\">Lucky Lab on Killingsworth<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcmenamins.com\/103-chapel-pub-home\">McMenamin&#8217;s Chapel Pub<\/a>.
